Eat, Pray, Love (Yourself)
Sometimes we get stuck in the stress and frustration of everyday life. We want to create the next Google, solve world hunger, or launch the next astronauts into Mars.
That’s excellent, even great if I may add. I wish you continued success.
But before that happens, I urge you: take the time to pop a bottle of champagne or wine, relax, unwind, and watch a good movie!
Trust me it’s worth sitting through a movie,
by yourself,
or better yet,
watch a movie with your girlfriend.
She will love you even more if you do.
Perhaps this post came to be on whim from watching the movie Julie &Julia. Maybe it did, maybe it didn’t. But if you are anything like me, and you secretly love RomCom movies, this being one of your “guilty pleasures”, then this is the perfect article is for you!
… and if it’s not… even if one prefers the more “exciting” movie genres like: sci-fi, action, adventure, etc. then I triple dog dare you to keep reading, as it may benefit you and perhaps even change your perspective on movies!
So let’s get on with it… we know lessons can be learned from these movies,
Often times, movies have a central plot or a “lesson to be learned”.
Now, perhaps movies are not exactly true or real, like the stunts in action movies etc. etc.
But, one can still learn from a movie. I mean, who says you can’t. right?
Let’s continue…
Everything you do in your life constantly shapes and molds, (or removes) who you are.
From what you watch on the T.V, to the music you listen to the foods you choose to eat.
But just like too much sugar leads to diabetes, too much work can be bad for you. (i.e stress, hair loss, headaches, migraines, weight gain, irritability, etc.)
Remember the saying,
All work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy.
So what’s the solution?
Prevention.
Take some time to unwind.
Don’t just come home from work and put on a documentary or nerd show. Genuinely relax your mind.
Don’t worry, we still haven’t sent the next astronauts to live in Mars yet, unfortunately world hunger still exists..
I believe it is safe to say that taking 2 hours (or if you can take a whole day off) for yourself (and your partner) might save the world. While working more would be counterproductive. Work smarter NOT harder.
So like I said before:
Pop a bottle of champagne or wine, relax, unwind, and watch a good movie!
Thank me later,
